The beautiful white flowers of a gardenia. The white is so pure that it makes me think of a wedding. June has always been the most popular month for weddings. Charleston of course is one of the most romantic cities in the country and many couples celebrate their wedding here.
Why are so many weddings held in June? Check this out from the Wedding Blog.

Lantanas bloom spectacularly from spring to fall and once established require very little maintenance.
We learned a great deal about growing our lantanas from the Clemson University Extension webpage.

The beautiful flower of a Southern Magnolia. The street that I live on is landscaped with magnolias.
One of our favorite restaurants in Charleston is Magnolias owned by Hospitality Management Group and Chef Donald Barickman.

Fridays are fun in Charleston
May 16, 2008 | 2 Comments
It seems that many real estate bloggers from around the country have adopted a Friday theme. Jonathan Dalton from Phoenix introduced Friday afternoon theme music, Teresa Boardman from St. Paul declared Fridays are for fun a while ago and just to be different, the great Larry Cragun from Seattle long ago told everyone not to bug him on Saturday.
This Friday, here are carpet roses from my garden.

The Masters

It is just amazing to be able to watch special coverage of The Masters on my computer. Video from Amen Corner, the 15th and 16th holes and one hour of Masters Extra are offered during most of the day and I’ve been combining work with some flipping back and forth to the videocast.
Everyone knows I’m a big fan of Phil Mickelson and you have to respect Tiger as simply the best golfer of today and likely all time by the time he hangs his spikes up.
So who will win this year’s Masters.

Sony appears to have won the battle. Years after losing the Betamax – VHS format war, Sony’s Blu-ray appears to have come out on top vs. Toshiba’s HD-DVD format.
Wal-Mart’s support of the Blu-Ray might have been the final knockout punch.

Summerville is enjoying an early spring
February 11, 2008 | Leave a Comment
It’s mid February and we’ve had great weather lately and it looks like spring is starting early in Summerville and across the Charleston area. If you are currently living in the North and Midwest, I hear the temps are cold. Perhaps you might consider relocating to the Charleston area. These pictures should warm you up a little.
In the Summerville historic district, this beautiful home has 2 tulip magnolias in bloom. Tulip magnolias are the earliest to bloom in the spring.

Historic Summerville is only 21 miles from downtown Charleston. These pictures are of Short Central, a little brick paved street blocked from automobile traffic with quaint shops and several nice restaurants. It’s early in the day but a few people are already dining alfresco.

Summerville is growing rapidly and Dorchester County is among the top 50 fastest growing counties in the nation. There are several reasons, first, Summerville is in the highly regarded Dorchester II school district and second, an abundance of well priced homes for sale. Homes for sale in Summerville might cost over $100,000 less than a similar home in other areas of Charleston. In Summerville real estate, you can buy a lot of house for your money.
Featuring the best of new and old, the new Publix Shopping Center at Central and Old Orangeburg Road serves the growing area just west of Summerville. The word is a new McDonald’s is under construction in front of the center. While I’m generally not a big fast food fan, I do enjoy a double cheeseburger, fries and a chocolate shake on occasion. It’s too bad I heard the double cheeseburgers are going off the dollar menu.
